My name is Michael McAndrew, I stared Central Alps in 2013 because I loved big trucks and cool Jeeps and was curious if I could make a living from it! The business has changed over the years, what has changed the most is what I love about it. Originally I loved building cool vehicles. But now what I love the most is helping people build their dreams, seeing their reactions when they get to see what they’ve been dreaming of for years come to fruition, and attempting to serve them like Jesus. If it wasn’t for the people, I would’ve shut the business down years ago.

No, A lift kit can only void parts of your vehicle's factory warranty related to the suspension system that are directly affected by the modification, but it doesn't void the entire warranty; if a problem arises with a component not related to the lift, the manufacturer could still cover it, always check your vehicle's specific warranty details and consult your servicing dealership for clarification, for aftermarket warranty providers check with said company about coverages related to modifications. Many of the brands we install have lawyers on staff to fight any manufacture warranty claims that should not be turned down.

Texas is actually one of the most permissive states. There is no specific limit on suspension lift, body lift, or frame height for most trucks.
That’s why you see some pretty extreme builds driving around. But the truck still has to meet other laws. Even though the lift itself isn’t capped, other measurements must stay within legal ranges:
Overall Vehicle Height
Headlights
Taillights
Vehicle Width
If a lift causes lights or dimensions to fall outside those limits, the truck can fail inspection or get ticketed.
As long as the truck is below 13' 6"
Liability insurance covers damage you cause to others
Your liability coverage pays for:
That coverage still applies even if your truck is lifted. A lift kit doesn’t automatically void liability coverage.
But the lift can affect how the insurer rates your policy
Some insurers may:
This depends heavily on the company.
Where lifts can matter legally
If you get into an accident and the lift made the vehicle unsafe or illegal, the insurance company could argue:
This typically only becomes an issue if:
The bigger risk: not disclosing the modification
If you install a lift and never tell your insurer, the company could claim material misrepresentation when renewing or paying a claim.
That usually doesn’t eliminate liability coverage, but it can complicate claims.
Simple summary
A lift kit can change the appearance, clearance, and handling of your truck, Jeep, or SUV, which makes expert installation especially important. The technicians at Central Alps verify that each lift kit is compatible with your specific vehicle before installation begins. We also inspect the shocks, springs, brackets, bolts, and other suspension hardware to make sure every component is installed correctly and securely.
Proper installation helps preserve vehicle stability and ensures the suspension and steering components work together as intended. An improperly installed lift kit can cause poor handling, uneven tire wear, alignment problems, and unnecessary stress on suspension components. Professional lift kit installation, followed by a proper alignment, can improve the long-term durability of your upgraded suspension and help protect your investment.
Central Alps also backs its professional installation with warranty coverage, giving Anna-area drivers added confidence and peace of mind after their vehicles leave our shop.
Lift kits can improve visibility by raising the driver’s seating position and providing a higher perspective of the road and surrounding traffic. They can also create additional ground clearance and room for larger tires, helping your vehicle achieve a more aggressive stance and greater off-road capability.
The right lift height depends on how you plan to use your vehicle. A mild lift or leveling kit may be ideal for a daily-driven truck that needs a more balanced appearance and slightly larger tires. A taller suspension lift may be better for drivers who regularly encounter trails, uneven terrain, mud, rocks, or other off-road conditions.
It is also important to consider the potential tradeoffs. Taller lifts and larger tires can add weight, increase aerodynamic drag, and negatively affect fuel efficiency. Raising a vehicle also changes its center of gravity, so choosing an appropriate lift height and having it professionally installed are essential for maintaining predictable handling and stability.
Not every vehicle lift works the same way. Central Alps can help you compare the available options and select the setup that best matches your truck, driving habits, desired tire size, and budget.
Suspension lift kits raise a vehicle by replacing or modifying components such as shocks, springs, struts, control arms, and related suspension hardware. This type of lift can provide substantial ground clearance and accommodate larger tires, making it a popular option for off-road builds and drivers seeking a more dramatic transformation.
Most trucks sit slightly higher in the rear than in the front, creating what is commonly called a factory rake. A leveling kit typically raises the front of the truck by approximately one to three inches to create a more even stance. Leveling kits are often a practical choice for drivers who want a modest height increase, improved front-end clearance, or room for slightly larger tires without completing a full suspension lift.
Body lift kits use spacers to raise the vehicle’s body above the frame without substantially changing the original suspension geometry. This can create additional space for larger tires while retaining many of the factory suspension components. A body lift does not provide the same suspension travel or ground-clearance benefits as a suspension lift, but it may be suitable for drivers primarily interested in appearance and tire clearance.
Whether you are considering a leveling kit, body lift, or complete suspension lift, Central Alps can help you build a setup that works for your vehicle and your goals. Our experienced technicians will review compatibility, intended use, desired lift height, wheel and tire fitment, alignment requirements, and long-term drivability before recommending a solution.
