My name is Michael McAndrew, I stared Central Alps in 2013 because I loved big trucks and cool Jeeps and was curious if I could make a living from it! The business has changed over the years, what has changed the most is what I love about it. Originally I loved building cool vehicles. But now what I love the most is helping people build their dreams, seeing their reactions when they get to see what they’ve been dreaming of for years come to fruition, and attempting to serve them like Jesus. If it wasn’t for the people, I would’ve shut the business down years ago.

Choosing between a leveling kit and full suspension lift kits depends on your truck, Jeep or SUV, the lift height you want, your budget and how you use the vehicle. A leveling kit raises the front of the vehicle to reduce the factory rake and create a more aggressive, balanced stance. A full suspension lift changes more of the suspension system to provide additional ground clearance and room for larger wheels and tires.
Lift height also affects the amount and complexity of suspension work required. Larger lifts may require replacing or modifying additional factory components, while more moderate setups may preserve a more factory-like ride quality. Our technicians help customers choose the right parts for their vehicle rather than recommending more lift than the build actually needs.
Proper installation is especially important when changing suspension geometry. Depending on the kit, technicians may remove factory suspension components and install new shocks, brackets, control arms or other components designed for the new ride height. Larger tire combinations may also require additional clearance and careful trimming.
Central Alps takes pride in the details of every build. Suspension components we touch are torque-marked so customers can visually inspect them later, and our team uses a methodical approach when fitting oversized tires and wheels. A proper four-wheel alignment should also be performed after changing vehicle ride height to help protect tire life, handling and overall ride quality.
Because every vehicle and lift combination is different, installation time can vary by model, lift height and the amount of suspension work involved. Central Alps keeps the process efficient by having the required parts ready before the build begins, allowing 96% of builds to be completed the same day.
Many of the lift kits Central Alps installs are backed by a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. Warranty coverage varies by brand and kit, so our staff can help explain the coverage available with the parts being considered for your build.
Central Alps also provides its own limited warranty on qualifying repairs and a separate alignment warranty. Customers can bring their own parts for installation, although Central Alps recommends carefully verifying fitment because customer-supplied parts sometimes arrive with missing components or may not fit the vehicle correctly.
Lift kits are generally legal in Texas, but increasing vehicle height does not eliminate other equipment requirements. Texas law requires headlamps to remain between 24 and 54 inches above the ground, so lift height, tire size and other modifications should be considered together when planning a build.
There is no single Texas suspension-lift-height limit for most trucks, but every build still needs the proper parts, fitment and installation. Central Alps helps Fort Worth customers build trucks, Jeeps and SUVs for the look, clearance and performance they want while keeping safe operation and Texas requirements in mind.
A leveling kit is generally a more modest change than a full suspension lift because its primary purpose is to raise the front of the vehicle and reduce the factory rake. Actual ride quality depends on the vehicle, kit, shocks, tires and other components used in the build.
Yes. A proper alignment is an important part of suspension installation after changing ride height. Correct alignment helps protect your tires from uneven wear and helps the vehicle maintain proper handling and ride quality.
Installation time depends on the vehicle, lift height and complexity of the kit. Central Alps reports that 96% of its builds are completed the same day because the shop makes sure the necessary parts are on hand before work begins.
Every build is different. Central Alps currently lists a 3.5-inch lift starting at $1,250 and a leveling kit plus tires starting at $2,500. Example packages pairing 4–6" lifts with wheels and tires start at $5,000. Customers can also ask about available financing options.
